This school district is a participant in the Iowa School Alerts program, which means you can sign up to receive free e-mail notifications when classes for our district, or a particular school building, are to be closed, dismissed early or started late due to weather or other circumstances.

 

How to Sign Up:

 

This is a multi-step process that you only need to do once, but it is a bit tedious. It helps to print out these instructions and the email they send you for the Account Activiation process. This will take approximately 5-10 minutes.

 

1.     Click on ÒSign Up!Ó in the Main Menu at https://schoolalerts.iowa.gov. This will take you to the ÒEnterprise A&AÓ screen for the State of Iowa. (If you already have an account with the State (say, for another online application), thereÕs no need to create another one.) 

2.     Type in your First Name and Last name, then click Register.

 

 

 

Type in your email address twice, then click Save Account Details:

 

Next you will see this screen below, just click OK.

 

The next screen tells you that you will receive an email with the next steps of the registration.  Usually the email arrives by the time you read this screen, so check your mail.

 

 

 

The email you get will show your account information and a link to click on or copy and paste into your web browser to continue the registration.

 It helps to print this information, and keep it in case you would ever want to log back into this sytem later.

 

 

Account Activation Process Instructions.

 1. Click the link found in your email.

 2. Enter Confirmation Token found above in this email. The Token is also part of the link above, and may be pre-filled for you.

 3. Enter Code from image on web screen. This is case sensitive.

If you are not sure what the letters or numbers are, you can click the button to get a new code.

 

 

 4. Click "Confirm My Account" ---- (If you get an error see below for possible error reasons.)

 

Most common error reasons.

 

 

5. Choose two baseline questions and then make your own question. --- (These are security questions you can answer later if you ever forget your password.) Click Save Identity Baseline when done.

 

 6. Enter your password. (Reminder - Passwords must be min of 8 characters, a mix of upper and lower case, and must contain at least 1 number or one special character such as !$*) Click Save New Password when done.

 

 

 7. Sign in using your new account. You do not need to check the box that says to take you to your account options.

 

 

 

 

8.         Click on ÒMy SubscriptionsÓ to add the school districts/buildings you would like to receive notices for.

 

 

9.         Click on the link for the Subscription Wizard

   

 

10.      Type in Oskaloosa, then click go.

 

 

11.      Your search results show in a list. Click on the Oskaloosa CSD link.

11.      This will take you to another page to enter your email that you want the alerts sent to for Oskaloosa Community School alerts.

Enter your email address twice then click the Add E-mail button.

 

 

If you want to add more email addresses, you can add more, or you can add a cell phone email addres in the lower section of the page.

12.      Now click on the My Subscriptions link again to make sure your subscription to the alerts for Oskaloosa CSD is listed.

There is no charge to sign up for Iowa School Alerts. Funding has been provided by the IOWAccess Advisory Council, which seeks to bring more e-government services to the citizens of Iowa. Please note, however, that you are responsible for any fees charged by your wireless provider for receiving messages.
