High School Highlights Include: • Advanced Placement courses in English, Biology, Government • Dual Credit available for: Advanced Chemistry, Calculus, Accounting, Music Theory, and numerous Vocational Courses • “Iowa TOP 50 School” as recognized by the Belin Blank International Center for Gifted Education and Talent Development for 2004-05 school year, based on the number of students taking Advanced Placement Exams. • National Merit Finalists • Vocational Opportunities in the areas of: Agriculture, Family and Consumer Science, Health Care, Business, Drafting, and Construction Trades • Home Building in the Construction Trades Program • Planting and Harvesting Crops in the Agricultural Program • Cooperatively Taught Core Content Courses • Four year Spanish and French Language Programs • Fine Arts Programs: Drama, Orchestra, Band, Chorus and a variety of Art and Graphic Design Courses • A School-Within-A-School Program providing students with additional academic and social support • An Alternative Program for students who need an alternative from the traditional high school setting in order to be successful • Co-Curricular Programs include: Orchestra, Marching Band, Concert Band, Choir • Extra-Curricular Programs: Cross Country, Volleyball, Football, Basketball, Wrestling, Track, Swimming, Soccer, Tennis, Golf, Softball, Baseball, Cheerleading, and Drill Team |
